Sassy Sista's
(Cause We Care)
The idea for Sassy Sistas came to me in 1999. I worked at the Cotton Gin restaurant in Crandall, Texas as a waitress. It was my duty to serve a group of ladies that gathered upstairs.

I noticed how much fun they were having with their fashion show and I watched as they came down the stairs with their lovely clothes and beautiful smiles. They had such a sweet bond. As we visited, I told them how cute they were but, little did I know, one of the ladies was my husband‘s Sunday School Teacher from years ago.

I set out to start a Grandmother’s Club to help children in need. I pestered a few of my closest friends to join with me in creating something special as these adorable women had done. It took a while for it to come about but, finally in 2016, a few close friends agreed to join me.
We share our saviors love and the gifts that God has blessed us with to benefit C.U.R.E and research of childhood cancer. Sassy Sistas also helps grandmothers raising their grandchildren and the needs of any children as we hear of ways to do so.

God has richly blessed our group and we are so thankful for the work that we have before us. By God’s grace we go forth and it is our prayer to help end childhood cancer. We welcome anyone who loves children to help us with our endeavors.

Even though the Pandemic has put a bit of a damper on some of our activities in 2020 and early 2021, we have 24 Sistas in 13 Texas cities! We are thankful for all the beautiful hearts sharing our Sassy Sista’s mission of helping children and grandmothers.
